Halloween Decoupage Projects

Decoupage is a crafting technique that involves cutting out images from paper or fabric and gluing them to a surface to create a design. The images are typically layered and then covered with a sealant, which creates a smooth and glossy finish. While decoupage can be done on a variety of surfaces, it is particularly well-suited to decorative items like boxes, frames, and ornaments.

Halloween Decoupage Craft Projects

Spooky Candle Holders:

Purchase a few inexpensive glass candle holders and some Halloween-themed tissue paper or napkins. Cut the paper into small shapes and use Mod Podge to glue them to the candle holders. Once dry, use a foam brush to apply a final layer of Mod Podge over the entire surface of the candle holder. Place a tea light inside and enjoy the spooky glow!

Pumpkin Planter:

Transform a plain terra cotta planter into a festive pumpkin using decoupage. Cut out pumpkin shapes from orange tissue paper or napkins, and use Mod Podge to attach them to the planter. Finish with a stem and leaves cut out of green paper, and coat the entire surface with Mod Podge for a durable finish.

Haunted House Box:

Find a small wooden box at a craft store, and paint it black. Cut out spooky images from old magazines, print them off the internet, and use Mod Podge to glue them onto the box. Finish with a layer of Mod Podge to seal the images and create a glossy finish.

Witch’s Brew Tray:

Turn a plain wooden tray into a witch’s cauldron with decoupage. Cut out images of bubbling potions and creepy ingredients, and arrange them on the tray with Mod Podge. Finish with a layer of Mod Podge to protect the images.

Spiderweb Frame:

Find a plain wooden frame and paint it black. Cut out spiderweb shapes from white tissue paper or napkins, and use Mod Podge to attach them to the frame. Finish with a final layer of Mod Podge to create a smooth, glossy finish.

Decoupage is a fun and versatile craft technique that can be used to create a wide range of Halloween-themed projects. From spooky candle holders to witch’s brew trays, the possibilities are endless. With a little bit of Mod Podge and some creativity, you can add a personalized touch to your Halloween decor that will be sure to impress your guests.
